Model-cum-actress Vaneeza Ahmed had been missing from the spotlight since 2018. Given that Vinny is also an entrepreneur it makes sense that she can’t find the time to juggle a business with a shooting schedule.
The actress is making waves with her performance in Ehd-e-Wafa as Dr. Faryal Faraz, Captain Saad’s mother.

Dr. Faryal actually brings the ‘cool mom trope’ to the Pakistani drama scene. Most Pakistani dramas showcase naive and meek women as mothers or the ‘monster-in-law /saas’. Compared to that, Dr. Faryal’s character was a refreshing change.
Her kindness is not limited to her children but her patients as well. We know that based on how the lady doctor financially supports a young patient who cannot afford her medicine.

Since Ehd-e-Wafa is aimed at a younger audience, we get to see a cool mom on screen. The kind of mothers we know and grew up with. The scriptwriter did not even cut out the part about mothers holding embarrassing secrets over our heads as we often see in playful exchanges between Dr. Faryal and Saad.
Since Dr. Faryal was a supporting character, it would have been easy for her to have been lost in between screens. Yet Vaneeza Ahmed’s performance held our attention.
Since she’s off to such a great comeback will the actress continue to play a mom on-screen? She was last seen in Bol Entertainment’s drama serial, Marham opposite Nauman Aijaz in 2018.
The only one I watch this drama for is Vaneeza Ahmed. You still are a star… Whether it’s modeling acting business or parenting: I idealise you.
