Abid Ali has passed away in Karachi on Thursday evening, days after he was admitted in the Liaquat National Hospital Karachi with severe liver disorder.
For the past few days, fake news of his death were circulated, with the family appealing for respecting their privacy during this difficult time. Unfortunately, fate intervened and the legendary actor breathed his last. He was 67 at the time of his passing away.
Actor and director Shamoon Abbasi also confirmed the news of his death on his social media account.
Abid Ali had been extremely ill for the last two months. The liver related ailment got worse a few days back. Mr. Ali was hospitalized at a local hospital of Karachi last week. Doctors had mentioned that his condition was rather severe and irreversible.

Mr. Ali had been a part number drama serials and films. However, he was widely known for his performance in the drama serial Waris. His directorial debut came with the hit drama of 90s Dasht, which is believed to be the first private production of its kind in Pakistan.
He followed his debut drama serial with another drama Doosra Aasman.
Abid Ali had also acted in many modern drama serials which were aired on private TV channels. His recent list of dramas include Dil e Nadaan, Dastar e Ana, Daldal, Mera Rab Waris and Ramz E Ishq. His last film, Heer Mann Ja, came alongside Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq.
