On Monday, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to share a small video with Rodriguez in which he is saying, “Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow, can you believe it, Letty?”. “Nine,” replies Rodriguez. And with that, the duo just ushered in the shooting for Fast and Furious 9.
Production for the 9th Installment of the highly acclaimed, mega-hit franchise Fast & Furious is finally underway.
Coming back to play their iconic roles as Dom and Letty, Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez were euphoric beyond description.
The sequel will see the return of Justin Lin to the director’s chair, who directed Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6.

John Cena Joins the Furious 9
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) will not be returning for Fast & Furious 9. However, former WWE wrestler John Cena is expected to star for this one. His role is being kept under wraps for the time being.
For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It’s an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family. https://t.co/7GFzDsX8sl

Perhaps Cena will play the movie’s new antagonist. With Hobbs and Shaw doing their thing in a spin-off movie of the same name, the Fast and Furious franchise could do with a new breed of villains. Question is, will Cena fit the bill?
Fast & Furious 9 is due to hit theaters on May 22, 2020.
