With the support for Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in India and their policies, it’s no wonder you can find such supporters in Bollywood as well. While a faction of Bollywood has broken their silence on the draconian Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, Vishaal Dadlani took it a step further and called out Kangana Ranaut over her problematic statements.
Kangana Ranaut openly supports BJP’s politics of hate. In fact, she even pressures others to join her. This time she went too far by blaming the anti-CAA 2019 protesters for being reckless with their lives. So far 22 protesters have lost their lives after clashes with police over an exclusionary law.
Lets start at the beginning.
Kangana Ranaut has no clue what the protests are about
Basically, Kangana just questioned and undermined the right to protest:
“In our population, only 3-4% people pay tax, others are actually dependent on them. So, who gives you the right to burn buses, trains & to create ruckus in the country?”
Kangana Ranaut on #CitizenshipAct: When you protest, the first thing that's imp is that you don't turn violent. In our population, only 3-4% ppl pay tax, others are actually dependent on them. This is when Desi Girl composer Vishaal Dadlani stepped in to school the Queen actress. Additionally, he also called her out on her privilege for thinking from such a narrow lens.
“The rich need to stop thinking they are special!”
How ignorant can one be? This is the voice of privilege, trying to show how much better than the common man she is.
FYI, EVERY indian pays tax, either directly or indirectly. GST is levied on each transaction! The rich need to stop thinking they are special! https://t.co/5zkRvvi4Xa

He then went on to school the Kites actress about the right to protest. He brought up how it was actually the police that incited violence, not the protesters. The police lashed out at protesters despite knowing they were peaceful. They also resorted to the use of tear gas.
“Nor does any authority have the right to violently attack or detain peaceful protesters.”
He mentions that whether you pay more or less taxes, no one has the right to destroy public or private property.
“Irrespective of how much tax anyone pays or doesn’t…nobody has the right to destroy property, whether public or private.”
And irrespective of how much tax anyone pays or doesn't…nobody has the right to destroy property, whether public or private. Nor does any authority have the right to violently attack or detain peaceful protesters. https://t.co/5Li5wvFpbj

Vishaal Dadlani really took Kangana Ranuat back to school with this matter. Of course, given the Krishh 3 actress’s track record for sparking controversy and questionable statements, this lesson will not do much for the actress.
