‘What Happened Bro?’: Shoaib Akhtar Takes a Cheeky Dig at Irfan Pathan

The Indian cricketer turned commentator and expert analyst was heavily criticized for his ‘graceless’ tweet.

Cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar clapped back at Irfan Pathan on Thursday just moments after India’s crushing 10-wicket World Cup semi-final defeat by England in Adelaide, Australia.

“Neighbors, winning and losing is part and parcel of the game but grace doesn’t come naturally to you,” Irfan Pathan tweeted on Wednesday.

The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ gave the former Indian cricketer a befitting reply after Pakistan won its World Cup semi-final clash against New Zealand in Sydney.

The Indian cricketer-turned-commentator-and-expert analyst was heavily criticized on social media for his tweet and Shoaib Akhtar had the last laugh as he wrote,

What happened, bro? If someone has said anything, let me know so that I can scold that person. Promise.

Irfan Pathan sheepishly replied to Shoaib Akhtar’s tweet, stating that his remark was due to allegedly rude behavior he had experienced during the Pakistan and New Zealand semi-final match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG)

“Lots of love brother,” he added.

There was not much the former Indian cricketer could do when #IrfanPathan trended on social media as Twitterati hilariously trolled him with memes. Even YouTuber-turned-actor, Arslan Naseer, took a jab at Irfan Pathan.

England Crash India’s World Cup Party

World Cup favorites India and their fans were already planning their trip to Melbourne for another blockbuster clash with arch-rival Pakistan in the final. However, England’s Jos Butler and Alex Hales shattered their dreams in spectacular fashion. The two Englishmen battered the Indian bowling lineup and chased down India’s total of 169 in just 16 overs without the loss of a wicket.

After India’s defeat, it seems to be 1992 all over again as Babar Azam and his side prepare to take on the formidable English team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday.
