Being in the midst of ‘Shadi season’ again there’s so much fuss around what to wear and what not to wear. Especially for the bride and groom. Turns out people want to stick to the basics for the groom.

We know the wedding day is all about the bride but even he’s got to look good for the camera. According to Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 30% Pakistanis think shalwar kameez with a waistcoat is the best clothing option for a groom.

Meanwhile, votes were pretty even on the most basic of attire, simple shalwar kameez and the classic sherwani. With 26% of voters designating these the best option for a groom on his wedding day.

Only 16% selected coat-suit as their option. We get it would have an ‘I walked in from work like this‘ vibe.

Then there was the 1% that didn’t even know how to respond.

The survey was created by the Gilani Research Foundation Survey and carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan.

For sampling, they went with a ‘nationally representative sample’ of both men and women from four provinces of Pakistan.
