Why is Adnan Siddiqui Is Disappointed With Pakistani Viewers?

But why?

While the public continues to show love for veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui, the star has his grievances with Pakistani viewers.

In an appearance on Mira Sethi’s web show, the actor talked about his disappointment in viewers who don’t watch progressive scripts. Whether the audiences want to watch regressive storylines or if that’s all that’s available on television is an unending debate. Now the Yalghaar actor’s clip from months ago is making rounds online on this issue.

“The viewers have to change themselves, they are served with what they want to see ”

The Ahista Aihista actor revealed that he is really disappointed with the viewers’ choice of dramas. He even said that the bitter truth is that they want to see crying women and men. In recent years, Adnan Siddiqui has produced two dramas very close to his heart, Seeta Bagri and Ghughi.

Seeta Bagri was about minorities and Ghughi was a period drama based on Amarta Preetam’s Novel Pinjer. Despite the captivating storyline and stellar cast with actors like Bushra Ansari, Qavi Khan, Sarwat Gilani, Shabbir Jan, and Syed Jibran; as well as emerging prodigies like Amar Khan, Hamza Firdous in Ghughi; both serials didn’t grab ratings.

The Pakistani public didn’t watch these progressive plays.

“Both the dramas did great abroad and people living abroad responded really well to the dramas.”

He even recalled when state-broadcaster, Pakistan Television (PTV)  had a monopoly it would generate progressive plays.

“Back in PTV days, there were a lot of dramas on minorities, PTV could make at that time and you can’t work on such scripts in modern times ”

Adnan Siddiqui shot to fame early on in his career given his impressive acting skills. His first claim to fame was via drama serial ‘Uroosa‘ with Mishi Khan. He has never looked back since. He’s gone on to star in drama serials like Pal Do Pal, Zaib Un Nissa, Mehndi Doraha, Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan.

His more contemporary hits include Sammi and Mere Paas Tum Ho. He was also cast in Bollywood’s ‘Mom‘, and Hollywood’s ‘A Brave Heart‘.
