Why is Bella Hadid Being Bashed Over ‘Diplomatic Tweet’?

If not the two-state solution, then what?

Bella Hadid stole the spotlight as one of the few Hollywood celebrities to call out Israeli aggression against Palestinians.

However, when the supermodel spoke up for co-existence she was slammed for her ‘diplomatic’ stance. Oddly Bella Hadid calling out Israeli violence was assumed to have been ‘anti-Jewish state’ sentiment. The response was not what she expected when she affirmed support for equality and coexistence of Palestine and Israel.

Bella Hadid tried to clear the air after an official Israeli Twitter account falsely accused Bella of advocating for the elimination of Israel and calling for Jewish people to be thrown into the sea.

The ‘queen’ of pro-Palestinian activism then tweeted ‘peace, coexistence, equality,‘ and coupled it with an Israeli and Palestinian flag. She later had to delete the tweet amid the backlash. In an Insta story, the supermodel tried to explain that;

“There is so much to be said about the phrase ‘from the river to the sea’ and how it predates the creation of Israel. But when I, my family and my friends say it, the meaning attached to it is freedom, not annihilation.”

Netizens even called out how politicizing this issue as a Jewish-Muslim issue or Arab-Israel issue is actually a disservice to the cause.
