Rabia Anum tweeted, “Did my tiny bit to break the cycle of ifs and buts, let’s hope harassers and wife beaters are never given the chance to be heroes again, those who never apologized for what they did while the victims are still struggling mentally physically and financially to get back on their feet”.

She revealed that the first thing she did after walking out of the show was talk to Mohsin Abbas Haider’s ex-wife, Fatima Sohail.

In a follow-up tweet, she expressed her gratitude for the people who supported her stance, stating she is “overwhelmed” by the love she received from “all around the world”.

The TV anchor was touched by people who courageously shared stories of “abusive childhood and marriages” with her, and mentioned that she had been “reading them and crying”.

After her stance, many people praised her for standing up against domestic abusers. However, others criticized her for shaming Mohsin Abbas Haider on live television even though his crime was not proven in court.

Amidst the praise, however, many also criticized her response. VJ Mathira pleaded for people to be given second chances, suggesting instead that Rabia Anum should have left “gracefully”. Actress Mishi Khan called the action a “cringe move” that represented her “bad etiquettes”.

The Scandal That Shocked The Nation

Fatima Sohail accused her now ex-husband of alleged domestic abuse In July 2019 and had the wounds to show for it. She posted on Facebook, saying the incident started in November 2020 when she found out that Mohsin Abbas Haider was cheating on her.

The actor denied all allegations and the two parted ways. The public outcry against him was intense, which is why many celebrities came out in support of Fatima Sohail and blacklisted her ex-husband for the time being.
