While casting older actors to play younger characters has been an everlasting dilemma in the film industry, no one expected Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat to play grandparents. Rumor has it that’s what they’re doing in Disney’s Ms. Marvel series.
A while ago we got a whiff of news that Fawad Khan and Nimra Bucha had been roped in for pivotal roles in the Disney+ series. While we’re still waiting on details about their roles, rumors emerged that Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat are set to play Kamala Khan’s great grandparents.
A Twitter handle, Ms. Marvel News, that has been sharing updates about the series sparked these rumors.
“Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat will be playing Hasan and Aisha, Kamala Khan’s great-grandparents, in a flashback scene in Ms Marvel. In the comics, her great grandparents only appear in four pages about the partition of India and Pakistan, so it’s likely this scene will be about that, though we can’t confirm yet.”
