Woman Orders Jeans Online, Gets Onions Instead

Online shopping is a hit or miss, and she definitely missed.

An online shopper in London was left stunned after she placed an order for a pair of Levi’s jeans but got a bag of onions in the mail instead. Interestingly, the seller was just as confused as we are.

We’ve all heard the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” but what do you do when life hands you a bag of small onions instead?

That’s the conundrum one unfortunate online shopper had to deal with recently when she decided to purchase inexpensive jeans from an online vendor. The internet is a great place to find hugely discounted items, but most of the time it’s either a hit or a miss.

The customer missed when she bought a pair of secondhand Levi’s jeans from a seller on Depop, a peer-to-peer social e-commerce company based in London. She didn’t get the package she was hoping for when it arrived, which prompted her to contact the seller and demand an explanation.

She wrote,

Hello, before I open a Depop case for this, do you have any explanation why I just received a parcel with onions in it instead of the jeans I ordered?

The seller was taken aback by the mix-up and replied,

Um, I’m honestly really confused what the hell. I don’t understand. wydm [what do you mean] onions? Sorry, I’m really confused, I sent the Levi’s. Did it look open to you?

Here is a picture of the onions that the customer got and then shared:

The hilarious incident has since gone viral on the internet, and left us with a very important reminder: don’t trust everything you see on the internet!
