Zainab has requested the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against all these slanderous accounts.

“Sir there’s so much evidence of a hate and smear campaign against Ali Zafar misusing the honorable #MeToo movement and it’s been two year since he filed a complaint with evidence. Please take action on fake accounts and this propaganda,” she wrote.

The FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing has replied by asking her to file an online complaint. As for the case of Ali Zafar’s Rs. 1 billion defamation suit, a court, under Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Yasir Hayat, has summoned Meesha Shafi and her witnesses on 28 September for a cross-examination. However, Meesha’s counsel nor witnesses have yet to appear before the court.

As per reports, Meesha has not appeared in court despite being summoned multiple times.

Ali Zafar had filed the defamation suit two years ago in June, and the court has already recorded the evidence of Ali Zafar and 11 witnesses. While Meesha’s counsel is directed by the court to produce the four witnesses for their cross-examination on 28 September. These witnesses are namely Meesha herself, her mother Saba Hameed, manager Farhan Ali and actress Iffat Omar.
