Dangal actress Zaira Wasim has returned to social media after a short hiatus. However, some netizens can’t help but troll her over a tweet.
The former actress parted ways with Bollywood for her religious beliefs and she still uses her platform to talk about Islam. In light of the locust attacks taking place in India, Zaira quoted the Quran and tweeted,
“So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood: Signs openly self explained: but they were steeped in arrogance- a people given to sin.”

This tweet irked so many people as they interpreted her post as a justification for the attacks. After being heavily trolled for saying ‘the world is coming to an end’, Zaira deleted her Twitter account.

Later, Zaira returned to Twitter to answer a user’s question on ‘Why did she deactivate her account?’
To which, she replied,
“Because I’m just a human, like everyone else, who’s allowed to take a break from everything whenever the noise inside my head or around me reaches it’s peak :)”

Soon, netizens came to defend her because everyone has a right to share their thoughts. And as we face issues like coronavirus, wildfires, and even the locust attacks on a global level, some of us tend to turn to spirituality in trying times.
I really don’t get why she got trolled for quoting the Quran. Everyone is literally saying the same thing .. plague, locusts, cyclones, earthquakes .. 7 plagues of Egypt .. look what we’ve done to Mother Earth ..yada yada ..

I don't know why people are overreacting to just a verse of Quran. The same verses are written in every holy book. These are Allah's words. And people should stop pulling her into CONTROVERSIES for God's sake. Stop keeping eye on every step she takes.
