Model Zara Abid tragically lost her life in the PIA plane crash on May 22nd. The model-cum-actress debuted in her first short film shortly before the tragic accident.

In her first (and last) acting venture, Zara Abid opened up about the discrimination she faced in her career due to her dark skin tone. Despite all that, her perseverance led her to become the face of many big brands.

The model passed away when her career was just beginning to peak. She was set to make her acting debut with short film Sikka. The short film was set to cast Zara Abid as the protagonist.

Tributes for Zara Abid

With the sudden demise of Zara Abid in the tragic plane crash that took the lives of 97 people, many of her colleagues are paying tributes to the late model.

Her Sikka co-stars paid a proper tribute to the actress in a heartfelt opening to the short film.

Here’s what Saba Qamar said:

“To you Zara, to your undying love. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, it shall live on in our hearts forever. May your soul Rest in Peace.”

Sikka is the story of two working women and their daily struggles in a world dominated by men. These women are worlds apart on the socio-economic scale but the sacrifices they make to compete in a man’s world make them seem like two sides of the same coin.
