The Celebrity Premier League (CPL) has been placed on hold and everyone was wondering where is Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. The playwright had stalled CPL on Saturday due to his abusive conduct on the cricket field.
According to The Current, the sporting event was stalled in Islamabad after the Meray Paas Tum Ho writer’s outburst on live television. Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, who was the captain of the Peshawar team, got into a tussle with the team members of ‘Rawalpindi Stars’ over a player. He was irked that the player’s name wasn’t previously mentioned in the list.
The Pyaray Afzal writer took the argument too far and lost his cool. As a captain, he was not allowed to come on the ground, Yet he came on the field and wreaked havoc leaving management and players in shock.
That’s when officials stepped in to remind him that his misdemeanor was caught on live footage of the league being aired to the masses. He was then escorted off the ground.
Celebrities like Faysal Qureshi and Aijaz Aslam who were also present at the stadium were shocked by the writer’s conduct.
“I was shocked to hear the foul language used by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. Families and children were there too. The man has no manners, no shame. Totally disgraceful,” anchorperson Shahzad Iqbal told The Current.
As for the future or CPL, the sporting event will continue but with entrepreneur and politician Zulfi Bukhari replacing Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. Zulfi Bukhari has come on board as a replacement for the future series.
