Prime Minister Orders Third-Party Validation of Development Projects

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed the relevant authorities to complete development projects in Islamabad on time and to carry out third-party validation of each project.

During a meeting to review development projects in the city, the prime minister formed a committee to expedite work on projects of public interest.

He urged the authorities to provide the best possible facilities to residents of the federal capital and to complete the Bhara Kahu Bypass at the earliest.

The prime minister also requested a report from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on the implementation of a solid waste management system for Islamabad and urged CDA to execute projects for overseas Pakistanis while maintaining international standards.

Furthermore, PM Shehbaz called for the acceleration of work on public transport projects and the immediate resolution of parking issues in the city.

Additionally, the meeting participants also received a briefing on ongoing projects, including the Bhara Kahu Bypass, 7th Avenue Interchange, Margalla Avenue, 11th Avenue, IJP Road, Islamabad Expressway, and parking plaza.

Shehbaz was also informed about CDA’s plans to construct parking plazas in several sectors, including the Blue Area, to address the city’s parking problems.

The CDA chairman also discussed feeder routes and a bus terminal that will be built to provide better public transport facilities to the city’s residents.

According to sources, the government has planned to invest Rs. 10 billion to upgrade Islamabad’s rural areas. The project includes the development of solid waste management, sewerage, road rehabilitation, and public transport.

Besides, federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to PM Tariq Bajwa, ex-federal minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, ex-MNA Hanif Abbasi, Anjum Aqeel, and senior officers attended the meeting.
