RAWALPINDI: In order to maintain traffic flow, City Traffic Police (CTP) and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) have launched a massive operation against encroachments in various localities of the city.
The details show that several vehicles were fined for violations and goods were confiscated during the operation.

Following the orders of Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi, Naveed Irshad, the In-charge Traffic Adiala Circle, along with Inspectors and RCB personnel, conducted operations in Chowk no. 22, Tench Bazaar, Kalma Chowk, and other surrounding areas.
Furthermore, strict measures were taken to remove carts, stalls, and illegal encroachments from the highways, and many cars and motorcycles were given tickets for obstructing the traffic.
The officials stated that the encroachers who have established their businesses on the city’s link roads such as Murree Road, Liaquat Road, College Road, Raja Bazaar, Bohar Bazaar, Imperial Market, Kohati Bazaar, Mareer Hassan, and Mall Road are also on the radar.
The Chief Traffic Officer of Rawalpindi ensured the maintenance of a complete record so that the encroachment mafia and shopkeepers do not spread their wings in the future.

Fawara chowk and its surrounding markets needs some serious measures to control the traffic. This may include making all roads one way only, banning cars in most crowded markets like raja bazaar, liaqat market, bohr bazar etc. I work in Dhq hospital and see the sufferings of emergency patients trying to reach the hospital making their way out of the crowded and often jammed traffic.
1ST of all land inspectors of the institute of respective areas should be punish as they take money from these ghareeb pplz and when there is encrouchment operation order confirms then they says “bahut sakhti hogyi hai maazrat”hahahahah

It’s only solution is shifting of such bazars, markets to other newly fabricated buildings on the pattern of metro cash and carry etc .

Look Farooq I Azam Road , Shamsabad Rawalpindi. Footpaths are completely covered. People walk on roads. No body can ask these vagabonds to leave footpaths. Those who ask, they querl. Heavy generator of Rasheed Shadi hall has obstructed foot path. Lot of rehries / fruit and vegetable street hawkers mess on this road. Traffic jam is common phenomenon at Ghousia Chowk and Gousia Chowk to PSO pump. Buck up and relive citizens from this inconvenience.

It is good,but” WHY” in the first place the competant authorities do not pay attention to this dilemma.
This activity is carried once in a blue moon just to show the existance of doing something for the demolition & removal of such encroahments otherwise on the very second day, the street shows the same havoc.
The shop keepers with proper shops occupy the pedestrian walkways and allow on rental basis the other encroachers to sell their items.
Then the motor bikes and four wheelers also park on roads leaving a limited portion of the roads for treffic flow.
It is strictly required that the competant authorities shall provide the parking lots for the two and four wheelers away from such busu shopping areas and not allow the private vehicles to enter the busiest shopping areas.
A shuttle services from and to these parking lots shall be arranged to control such treffic irregularities or paid parking lanes infront of the shops shall be provided with the pedestrian walkway free of any encroachment.
Shop opening & closing times shall be strictly followed from 7.00 AM to 7.00 PM itrespective of any threat or strike by the traders.

Very good point. In fact they are paid to let them install such encroachment for a specific period. In this period, the sellers take their share of profit so it doesn’t matter for them if their shops are destroyed because that’s the part of deal. Pro active approach is required rather then reaction. Force the markets to abide by law.

Yes. I agree with you. If anybody wana see “HARAAM KHOR”, one can see RDA staff deployed with a truck moving here and there in bazars. This staff passes by the dump of goods being sold just in the middle of the road.

Come to commercial market full of on road shops supported by market administration and closed eye by municipal committee. Jannat mall forcibly park their motorcycles at mid of the road alongwith police barrier and get 20 to 25ft area for stalls

It is a good effort. It should be done on regular basis,not once in a year.
Have a look on commercial market one way road from Al Jannat Mall the car cannot pass through it as shopkeepers confiscated more then half of the road and authorities are doing nothing

Please also add Siham Road adjacent to F. G Liaqat ali degree college Peshawar road Cantonment. This is residential area and commerical activities are going on from many years.
No shopkeeper be allowed to put barricades in front of his shop or markets as it creates a big obstacles for pedistarians s and vehicular traffic esp on all busy roads.

Right! There must be a regular operation clean up on daily or at least weekly basis, as all the culprits return back just few hours after the operation ends. Murree Road and connecting channels like Farooq e Azam Road need operation clean up on regular basis!!!
Whenever we visit Pakistan we expect and hope for some pleasant changes but it seems it’s a specific school of thought who want to keep their home clean but they dam care about the country. Officials and masses have the same responsibility. Nobody cares. Only 1% learned and patriotic nationals can not make the difference. Everybody complains but during elections when it comes to choose the right candidates for the welfare of the society, everyone scraps their own benefits. We need a sincere and patriotic nation same like 1947 who created Pakistan. REMEMBER, corrupt society can never change its destiny.
