Sindh Govt Implements Province-Wide Ban on Building Approvals

KARACHI: In a significant move aimed at curbing the unchecked expansion of buildings and commercial structures, the local government department has announced a comprehensive ban on the approval of various types of construction projects throughout the province.

The sources clarified that the ban’s scope pertains to formulating future policies, and the provincial supervisory body will soon establish a comprehensive framework in this regard.

Highlighting the caretaker government’s public-centric approach, the local government minister emphasized that entities like the Water Board and KDA should focus their resources exclusively on providing public facilities and relief.

He also directed the KWSC’s Chief Executive Officer, Syed Salahuddin, to take stringent action against illicit hydrants, ensuring a just distribution of water among citizens.
