Sindh Postpones School Reopening Indefinitely

Sindh government has decided to postpone the reopening of all public and private educational institutions indefinitely.

The provincial government has taken this decision in view of the resurgence of COVID-19 infection across the province.

According to Sindh’s Education Minister, Saeed Ghani, all public and private educational institutions in the province will remain closed until further orders due to the prevailing Coronavirus situation in the province.

He said that only 50% of the teaching staff will be allowed to visit the campuses in accordance with the SOPs issued by the provincial government, adding that educational institutes in the province will continue to impart online education to students in the meantime.

Last week, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) allowed reopening schools and colleges in areas where the Coronavirus positivity ratio was less than 5%.

Meanwhile, the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) is set to meet today with Federal Education Minister, Shafqat Mehmood, in the chair to finalize the exam schedule.
