Jahanzeb Taj Replaces Irfan Akram as VP Sales Mobilink
We are informed just a while ago by top level sources in Mobilink that Mr. Jahanzeb Taj is appointed as Vice President Sales at Mobilink by replacing Mr. Irfan Akram, who will be heading Customer Services now.
Mustafa Peracha, who was VP Customer Services, has been given the portfolio of BBU (Broadband Unit), which was previously under Naeem Zamindar.
Sources further confirmed that Naeem Zamindar will remain without any portfolio for some time, until he will be given back planning and strategy – that he has headed before. In this case, current head of strategy Mr. Aamir Ibrahim may see the exit door, who is reportedly not in good books of Rashid Khan.
Jahanzeb Taj who has previously served Mobilink remained responsible for sales growth at Telenor Pakistan, before his current appointment. He is well reputed for taking Telenor to its current position in terms of sales. Jahanzeb Taj is going to play a pivotal role in Mobilink’s sales segment which has seen sharp decline in recent months.
Mobilink’s spokesman has confirmed this reshuffling – while saying that Naeem Zamindar will assist Irfan Akram in BBU; however after transition period Naeem Zamindar will be given another portfolio. Syed Hasnat Masood, Director Corporate Communication commented that, “We thank Jahanzeb Taj for his contribution and bid him well in his future efforts”.
By the way, we had anticipated back in December about this re-shuffle – we had reported then that sales will be taken away from Mr. Irfan Akram .
Moreover, there are rumors that Omer Rashid is likely to replace Bilal Munir Sheikh next month. Omer Rashid is currently serving Banglalink as Chief Commercial Officer
