Ufone 5G Starts Appearing in Islamabad With Over 300MB Speeds

After months of trailing behind Jazz and Zong in Pakistan’s 5G rollout, Ufone has finally started activating its 5G network in Islamabad.

During ProPakistani’s limited testing, we confirmed that Ufone 5G is now available in several parts of the capital. While there are likely more active locations, these are the areas where we were able to verify 5G coverage.

Confirmed Ufone 5G locations in Islamabad include:

  • F-10/3, near the traffic signal on Margalla Road
  • Jinnah Avenue sites: near New Blue Area and alongside G-9/2, G-9/3, Near Centaurus
  • Islamabad Expressway near G-8
  • Near Faizabad, where the Islamabad Expressway connects to Murree Road
  • Near Serena Hotel

Since our testing was limited, there are likely additional Ufone 5G sites across Islamabad that we have not yet identified.

If you have found Ufone 5G coverage in other parts of the city, let us know in the comments.

Download and Upload Speed

ProPakistani also carried out speed tests while travelling through these coverage areas. Ufone’s 5G network delivered average download speeds of more than 300 Mbps, despite testing being conducted while in motion. Mobile speed tests usually produce lower results when travelling than when standing still, meaning users may see even faster download speeds while stationary.

Upload performance, however, was less impressive. During our tests, upload speeds rarely exceeded 20 Mbps while travelling.

If you have access to Ufone 5G, share your own speed test results and let us know how the network is performing in your area.

More coverage is expected to appear across the capital as the company continues expanding its 5G deployment in the coming months.
