Telenor Pakistan has teamed up with Nokia Siemens Networks to implement an energy efficient GSM network that would enable the communication service provider (CSP) to reduce its energy consumption by up to 50 percent, reports Daily Times.
Citing a press release, paper further reports that Nokia Siemens Networks would build the network using its award-winning Flexi Base Stations, which helps to minimize a network’s environmental impact through reducing its carbon emissions. Telenor Pakistan was committed to significant reductions of its carbon emissions by 2011 and was leading the drive for greener telecom solutions in the Pakistani market.
