175 PTA Officials Trained in IT

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has completed the advanced IT training to enhance the IT skills of its officials including lower cadre staff. As many as 175 officials including 103 staff members at Headquarters 40 Qasids/Naib Qasids and 32 officials at its Zonal Offices, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Rawalpindi have been trained under this program. Advanced IT Training Program 2009 covered training areas such as basic programs, network, trouble shooting, MS office, software and advanced applications.

In this connection, an award ceremony held at PTA Headquarters. Chairman PTA Dr. Mohammed Yaseen, distributed certificates among the position holders of this training program. Member (Finance) Syed Nasrul Karim Ghaznavi, Member (Technical) Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar and senior officers of the Authority were also present on this occasion.

On this occasion, Chairman PTA said that realizing the importance of IT in all spheres of life, PTA has initiated advance training of all its employees. He said the staff members as well as the organization will be benefited a lot from this program. He also appreciated the role of ICT and HR Directorates in arranging the training programs. Earlier in 2008 PTA arranged Basic IT Training Program 2008 for its staff members covering word processing, spread sheet, multimedia etc.


  • I really would like to know what they have been taught … maybe they have been taught how to use MS-Word or mayble MS-Paint :)
    PTA now controls 100% of the Internet traffic of the country , passing it through a single system … not to mention its not even manned 24 hrs a day or on Holidays. Dr.Yaseen can give away all the gifts and diplomas he wants …but PTA is a very long way from getting its act together !! Whats actually missing is common sense … which is pretty uncommon in PTA.
