Warid has reportedly approached its customers who will be offered a chance to experience Warid’s 4G LTE trials very soon.

Warid said that its those customers who were already using 4G enabled handsets were approached so that their current SIM cards are upgraded to compatible 4G LTE SIMs before the launch of 4G LTE trials.

Warid said that it is preparing to ship new upgraded SIMs to customers’ doorstep ahead of its anticipated 4G LTE launch.

These customers, who are already using 4G enabled handsets, will be given access to Warid’s 4G network during trials and it is supposed that company will be offering free 4G LTE services during the trial duration.

It is still unclear that when Warid is planning to start offering the 4G LTE trial services, but considering that Warid is now in process of upgrading customers’ SIM cards, it appears that 4G LTE services are going to be launched soon.

From our previous communication with Warid, we know that 4G LTE from Warid will commence somewhere around September 2014.

As confirmed by various ProPakistani readers, Warid’s call centre had approached them to inquire if they wanted to become early 4G testers. After affirmation, customers were told that they will be receiving new Warid SIMs with which they will be able to use 4G LTE services after the launch.

It is pertinent to mention here that customers will have to upgrade their SIMs to use 4G LTE services as 4G SIM cards are different than our current usual 2G-3G SIMs.

  • 2/3g in pak operates at 2100 Mhz while 4g at 1800 Mhz. Thats why a new sim is needed.
