Deadline for SIM Re-Verification Extended Again till May 15th, 2015

Ministry of Interior has decided to extend the deadline for SIM re-verification till May 15th, 2015, we have checked with sources.

This was decided during a high-level meeting, chaired by Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Minister Interior.

A Pakistan Telecommunication Authority spokesperson confirmed ProPakistani that deadline for re-verification of SIMs was extended till May 15th, 2015.

PTA said that a white-list of around 11 million SIMs is made for which the deadline of re-verification is extended. Regulator said this list is mostly comprised of one SIM per CNIC.

Interestingly, there were 11 million SIMs that were left for verification on April 12th, 2015.

PTA said that these numbers will be blocked after the new deadline.

Not to mention, PTA and Interior Ministry had repeatedly maintained that all un-verified SIMs were blocked on April 14th, 2015; the old deadline.

It is just not possible to comprehend that how come a deadline is extended, especially when numbers were already blocked.

  • They are behaving like out of mind. My SIM (registered in my name and only one SIM on my CNIC) was blocked. I tried to get it re-verified on April 13 but to no avail. Zong said this SIM was blocked by PTA and to restore visit customer service office. They blocked mine before date and now extending dates. Weird :(

  • One of my unverified sim is not blocked, whereas few of my friends sims got deactivated.

    • wow !! PTA is more than efficient … :) yeh becharay bhi kya karein in ki kuch samajh hi nahi aa raha or kuch to ker k dikhana hai , awam ko na jaanay kitne or rehman malik mazeed mushkilaat mein daaleinge ? sub band ker do or naey siray se SIM lay ker use karo taakeh in sub ka dhandaa chalay
