Fully Bezelless Mi Mix 2S Leaked Before Launch

As the Mobile World Congress draws closer, leaks and rumors about the upcoming smartphones are getting more and more prevalent.

Xiaomi’s Mi 7 has also been leaked extensively in the past few weeks, however that doesn’t mean that the soon to come Mi Mix 2S isn’t getting any love.

A video has surfaced on the interwebs showing an alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S with gestures quite similar to Apple’ iPhone X. Take a look:

Design and Display Leaks

According to earlier leaks, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will come with a 6 inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080) edge-to-edge display with a tiny camera notch on the top right corner.

Black Mi Mix 2S with Specs

Dubbed as “Full Screen 3.0”, Mi Mix 2S might be one of the first phones to come with an all screen front, as opposed to tiny bezels on the S8, Note 8 and the notch from the iPhone X and Essential Phone. You can count on Xiaomi to include the Ceramic body from the previous Mix smartphones.

There does not appear to be a fingerprint sensor visible on the leaked image above, which means Xiaomi could have incorporated it into the display itself (just like Vivo). In addition, it will also have AI for facial recognition features.

Hardware, OS and Camera

Other info points to a Snapdragon 845 processor with a humongous 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It will be running Android Oreo 8.0 with MIUI, and will include dual SIM support.

On the camera side, Mi Mix 2S will have a dual rear camera setup, banking on the dual camera trend. It will use a 12 MP Sony IMX 363 sensor for both the cameras. The front camera has been moved to the top right corner, as opposed to the chin (as was the case with Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2).

Battery and Price

Powered by a 3,400 mAh battery, the Mi Mix 2S will also include fast charging support based on Quick Charge 4+.

No word on the possible price yet, however it might be around the same ballpark as the Mi Mix 2 (around Rs. 60,000 in Pakistan).

About the Mix Series

Pioneer of the bezelless trend in smartphones, Xiaomi unveiled the original Mi Mix back in 2016 and took the world by a storm.

The phone was then updated in 2017, making it more practical and pocketable. The Mi Mix 2S looks to be an upgrade of the Mi Mix 2 (given the S acronym) hinting that it might look similar to the latter model.

Expect the phone to show up at MWC 2018 next week.

    • I can only partially agree, because MIUI will ruin the experience for me. Good device for those who can live with it.
