PIA, after huge losses, announced the end of New York flights in October last year. The direct flight between Pakistan and USA was shut down for the first time in 56 years. After the closure of this route, rumors began spreading that this route was now being assigned to Air Blue.

Air Blue is a private airline of Pakistan, where current Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a major shareholder.

The airline’s spokesperson has denied the existence of any trans-Atlantic flight because Air Blue doesn’t have the aircraft and the capacity to start such a long route.
