SMS Delivery Reports will Remain disabled on Valentine’s Day

Due to expected and un-usual hike in SMS traffic tonight, because of Valentine’s Day, mobile operators in Pakistan will de-activate delivery report feature for SMS messages sent by mobile phone users today, starting 9:00 PM today till midnight tomorrow. So if you don’t receive delivery reports, feel safe…!

In this regards majority of cellular companies have confirmed us about deactivation of Delivery Report feature to double their SMS traffic capacity.

For those, who don’t know, Delivery Report is a notification when your SMS is delivered on recipient’s phone. Consumers in Pakistan, rarely use Delivery reports except geeks. Delivery reports can be very handy in a situation when you want to make sure that your SMS has been delivered safely on recipients’ mobile phone.

One can activate this feature by going into SMS setting of your mobile phone. By the way, other than Mobilink, all mobile phone operators offer this feature.
