Cellular companies added 1.2 million subscribers in July 2009, demonstrating growth rate of 1.28 percent, thanks to decreased tariff plans by almost all companies.
According to the latest statistics released by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), total base of mobile phone subscribers has reached 95.54 million.
Teledensity of the cellular phone is standing at 58.50 percent, as per the stats from PTA.

Wireless Local Loop (WLL) also maintained its subscribers’ base growth in July 2009. The WLL operators have made 35,041 net increase in their users during last month.
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) wireless users’ base stood at the highest level with 1.3 million. Telecard and WorldCall enhanced their subscribers to 0.626 million and 0.562 million by the end of July 2009, PTA data said.

The Reason for this low out come of ufone is that they forced a huge target on franchisees for stock lifting.. and almost 70 percent franchisees didn’t lifted the target. Which resulted in this :D
Very disapointing performance by Ufone. I guess one area where ufone lacks is the absence of a good package for calling other networks, although they have got a bundle offer @ 60 paisas/30 seconds but i thing thats quite expensive for prepaid users.

warid’s statistics are much better now, ufone really sucks and i just hate ufone because of it’s 3rd class service, mobilink is much better , telenor’s service so bad these days.
Ufone should also concentrate on their call tariff, not only on sms tariff and advertising. They should give an affordable 30 seconds simple voice package. Also their data rates are also very high i.e 1.5 GB for 500 rupees while Zong gives 2 GB only for 200.
