Ali Raza Mehdi, former VP HR and admin of Mobilink, is joining Zong to head it’s human resource department, we have confirmed with sources.
Ali Raza Mehdi will replace Zaheer Baig – who recently resigned from his position to join National Bank of Pakistan.
Industry sources revealed that Mr. Mehdi is confirmed to take charge this Monday. It is unclear at the moment if Ali will head admin department as well (in addition to HR), because of his expertise in the area; though Zong has admin chief at the moment.
It merits mentioning here that Ali Raza Mehdi served Mobilink as VP HR and Admin. Mehdi had resigned from his position from Mobilink in November 2009 to join Metro.
Analyst are terming Ali Raza’s appointment as a major development for Zong. They opined that Ali Raza’s has all the abilities to bring in the positive change in Zong’s HR hierarchy.

Mr Mehdi got ample experiance to run HR/Admin operations, and currently in Zong he is heading both departments, which is a good news for all Zong employees, lets see how much room he got to work freely
