During the proceedings yesterday, the petitioner stated that the government didn’t publish any advertisement for the post, adding that the appointment of Farooq Awan had been made on political basis.
Petitioner was of the view that not all the requirements, mandatory for the appointment of chairman of PTA, were fulfilled.
He further said that the appointment had not been made on merit which was in violation of law and constitution. Hence, the court should declare the appointment as null and void.
The court accepted the plea after hearing the arguments and sought a reply from federal government till December 17.
