Telenor to Commercially Launch 3G on June 1st

telenor_3g_logo

As we had hinted before, Telenor Pakistan will be launching its 3G services on commercial basis from June 1st, 2014, we have confirmed this officially.

Telenor will be second operator in Pakistan to commercially launch 3G service for its customers, earlier Ufone had launched its 3G services on May 24th, 2014.

We are assuming that Telenor will launch 3G services in four cities namely Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi.

Not to forget, with the commercial launch of 3G services from Telenor, the trial period — during which 3G service was available to customers without any charge – is going to end. An SMS message is being sent to Telenor customers telling them that free 3G services will end on May 31st, 2014.

Telenor is likely to announce its 3G packages on the eve of May 31st.

After Telenor’s commercial launch of 3G services, Mobilink and Zong will become only two operators without any launch yet.

We have heard that Mobilink may launch its 3G services with-in first fifteen days of June, while no words can be said about Zong though, which is yet to start its trial 3G services.

We have heard Zong is going to hit the 3G market with big bang, but question of when is making its customers somewhat worried about the anticipated plans of Zong’s 3G.

Yes, we will bring the updates as soon as Telenor will announce 3G packages. So keep visiting this space back.

  • rashid

Dont axpect any thinh from telNOr they have just 5mhz of spectrum so they cant offer affordable rates or in simple words they cant handle 1percent of there customers with this spectrum

    • Guest

kindly study about 5Mhz spectrum first, ur comment is of a layman!

  • Bilal Hussain

Plz exclude khi for its limited area edition, i think telenor should shut off this if they can’t cover major area and going commercial with false. The should advertise like this, COME OUR SERVICE CENTER TO ENJOY 3G !

    • sid

Same applies for Lahore …very limited area coverage by telenor

      • Syed Arslan Tahir

        Same for pindi

  • Bilal Aahil

  • Will telenor again play the game of djuice and talkshawk?

Djuice expensive call rates, cheap internet

talkshawk cheap call rates, expensive internet

    • Ye game toh telenor wale bohot time se khel rahe ha is lye toh per user income un ke sab se zeyada ha fazool our gatya kisam ke packages our strategy ha Mobilink our zong mein is tarah ke masle nahe ha sab jeeze eek sath :)

    • 3G is launched in very few areas in big cities too , if you check ufone coverage map you will notice that only few KM of area of lahore is covered yet , so sabrunn :)

  • umer

For everyone that has been asking for 15GB, 30GB data, you do realize that no major mobile operator in the world offers such a high data cap. The average that everyone offers is between 1-3 GB and they are more expensive than what is being offered by Pakistani companies right now. I do, however, find the practice of limiting speeds by Ufone to be a weird step.

    • SK telecom

SK telecom is offering unlimited data in south korea.

  • A

Worst thing is that we even didn’t get chance to experience free 3G service in Karachi (FB Area yet – aap k ilae main abi 3G service available nai hai ) and now they are going to roll out this service here :(
