Zong Appoints Abu Nasar Alvi as Head of Device Business


Zong Telecom has appointed a head of devices as part of its management changes, revealed a statement issued by the company

Abunasar Alvi of Samsung has reportedly joined Zong as Senior Manager Terminals and Head of device business Pakistan. He will be responsible for Zong’s long-term product roadmap, including hardware, software and design, as well as the company’s joint development efforts.

Abunasar Alvi joins Zong with considerable experience of Telecommunications, IT & Mobile Business Divisions, having worked in the leading telecommunications, and Mobile companies for over eight years.

Alvi joined Zong from Samsung, where he was a key member of Samsung Pakistan leadership team and led the company business across Middle East and North Africa region.

During his previous role at Samsung, Abunasar Alvi drove a transformation program of Samsung IT Business and mobile device and portfolio management business across Pakistan and Afghanistan markets.

Prior to this role he held a range of management roles at World Telecom and Tapal Pakistan.

Abunasar Alvi is educated at Sunkyunkywan University in Seoul (MBA) and active member of Mensa international and Toastmasters International.
