Pakistan’s Best Selling Smartphones in 2015

No one can deny the massive increase in Pakistani smartphone users in the last few years. According to a survey by Grappetite (a mobile development firm), Android phones are the most popular phones in Pakistan (68%) with Samsung as the leader. Interestingly, 60% of the people use more than one cell phone and 35% of the smartphone users carry a low-cost phone for safety reasons.

It seems that most of the Pakistanis are cost effective. They prefer to get phones which provide good value for the price while a niche market goes for the popular brands. It is no wonder that the 5 best-selling phones in 2015 are a mix of high end and low end phones of different brands. An interesting factor is the popularity of dual-sim phones.

  • where is Galaxy Grand Prime? Although I dont like that set but i think that is best selling phone.

        • Lol… Larg screen having samsung logo. Best sold to innocent customets with pethaticc specs. Can get same specs in 9000 instead of 19,999/- :p

    • I am a victim as well and I curse the day when I decided to buy Grand Prime. Extremely pathetic phone with frequent hanging and pathetically poor in performance.

    • It is an article about a third party survey about new phones i assume. G2 and S4 are discontinued phones.

    • qmobile is tax defaulter and thus can afford to play countless ads on tv to promote its products.

    • Bhaijan Xiaomi is not sold officially here. It is really difficult even to get online. all the above mentioned handsets are those which are officially available here, not through grey channel.

        • U can get Sony in Pakistan via semi official distributor here. I thought htc had a distributor here already. Anyway I don’t like htc as it has always been expensive and low quality hardware powered .

          • HTC’s distributors, Brightex wrapped up their business in Pakistan after their country manager resigned last year. That’s how much I know, although author here comment better.

            • hahaha. LOL so they couldn’t justify selling 600 USD Mobile while others like xiaomi and meizu are beating them with 300 USD phone in price and features. Sooner or later Samsung Pakistan will also start loosing numbers here as people will get awareness about how much Samsung is overcharging them. 200 USD mobile being sold for 550 USD. :( . People in Pakistan are stupid and crazy to spend this much money on htc , samsung ,apple, etc. Come on these companies dont care what you do to buy their phones. They dont care how much deceptive you become to buy their product, they dont care you buy from hard earned cash or drug money, all they want is to please their shareholders at wall st.

              • I don’t think so. See, Oppo and Huawei, both being good global brands, are offering quite good handsets at either half the price of Samsung or if at same price then they definitely ofer more features for your money, but still they can’t dethrone Samsung (at least for now). Even keeping in mind how price conscious a common smartphone buyer in Pakistan is, and with all the Q, Voice and Rivos, Samsung in general has the most seen and purchased handsets in Pakistani market. One point here is that, Pakistani mobile phones buyer in general, are either just way too brand conscious (IPhone 5s 2nd hand is the most viewed handset in the hands of people who like to call themselves classy) or they buy what they see (QMobile). Even Lenovo, quite a huge brand both in China and globally (seriously, if a company can buy IBM at its peak time and Motorola, it definitely has some cash) hasn’t made any serious statement so far in Pakistani smartphone market. So, even if I wanted to agree with you about Xiaomi and Meizu overtaking Samsung, it still is a very long battle. They 1st need to arrive here officially( I don’t understand why Daraz.pk can sell Infinix and Injoo but are unable to bring in Moto, Xiaomi, Meizu and ZTE which are all far superior brands compared to Infinix etc) and only after they have arrived, they will have to battle Samsung with the same pricing startegy as they are doing in India and China. I hope I didn’t say anything offensive.

                • oppo isn’t sold in huge numbers. In shopping malls all over China, they have placed their display units but very few people used to buy it. Huawei has good offerings in both India and China. Huawei Pakistan is selling honor 4c at a high price in Pakistan, And they didn’t introduced 4x here. Daraz only sells their own brand phones. Infinix and Innjoo both are sold via daraz in Asia and Africa. But, they dont offer every model here. Their android one Infinix Hot 2 isn’t available here, sadly. I don’t know other cheap Chinese brands as I bought brands trusted by Chinese themselves.

        • Ji nahi, Sony is available for an year now with INew warranty. Get your facts right. Also, Sony handsets are sold with warranty on all Sony World outlets.

          • I don’t know much about their smartphones but sony’s made smartphone cameras are really good.

      • That’s why I wished. Anyway you just can’t say it’s is available via grey channels, I have seen many fakes in Lahore.

    • As long as there are no low price ,high quality brands , in Pakistan like Meizu ,xiaomi ,cool pad ,etc .Samsung will continue to rule .

  • mohtharma ap na ghar beth ka artcile to likh dia ja ka survay ker leti tu acha hota (i know that writer is male : just FUN)

  • Once again another false news by propakistani, Galaxy grand prime should have been there n many others :/

  • i switched from android to windows phone and i am happy with that i have lumia 535 . windows mobile is smooth secure and longer battery life than android and it is upgrade able to windows phone 10

  • Nice article author. But can you please write another article where the number of handsets sold of the top selling smartphones would be mentioned? is it possible? I know it would be difficult but still you can do it. Take your time, 2-3 weeks, use your resources to collect data. All the big companies must have a certain number of their devices sold, its all tech. But can you get a hand on that data? Please.. That would be really an interesting read.

  • I really wish LG officially sold their phones here and we didn’t need to buy them through the grey market, i really need the Lg G4

    • dude whatever you do just don’t buy it from ShopHive! thugs selling Korean and HongKong crap for premium and once you figure that out they won’t even talk to you…

      • how about buying them in market? And what about Telemart? Do you have any experience with them? Please share.

        • I don’t know what I was thinking.. I sure did made a mistake and fell in trap even though everybody warned me against ShopHive or better say ShopThieve – you can read more on their shady deals at PG and WP forums.

I first called Telemart they seemed reluctant about CoD.. my honest advice? either go get one in person or online you can count on BeeGeek to cut a good deal in line of recent price cuts.

It’s a pretty good phone had it been the international version I would have definitely kept it!

  • suba sham aik he ad dykhty rahoo, “I noir DO YOU ?” .. phir bhi top nahi kar saki Qmobile,,,
