Invest2Innovate, a startup accelerator, aims to boost impact oriented business ventures. Like last year, i2i have teamed up with Slush, a popular European tech conference, to bring the event to Pakistan. The partnership will let Islamabad be the host for all local startups.
One lucky winning team will get the chance to attend the Slush conference and Impact Accelerator bootcamp in Helsinki, Finland.
What is the Slush Conference?
Slush is a global Impact Accelerator program launched in partnership with the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, multiple international businesses and UNICEF. The purpose of the conference is to boost the best startups which have solutions to the most pressing global issues. Under the program, 30 startups get a chance to change the world for the better.
The program will offer opportunities to speed up startup growth via skill workshops, network opportunities, investor relations and potential partnerships.
Slush conference plays the role of a platform which allows startups and new tech talent to meet with deep-pocketed international investors, leading executives from multi-billion dollar companies and media representatives.
In 2014, Slush hosted 14,000 attendees and over 3,500 companies in a two-day event. 750 investors were part of that event. 2015 saw 15,000 attendees from 100 countries during the event.
The winning team will get the following prize package:
- A fully paid trip to Helsinki including accommodations and air tickets.
- Access to online pre-event coaching and Helsinki bootcamp program from 22nd November to 2nd December, 2016.
- Slush Conference passes.
- A chance to be featured in Slush with Slush Impact.
- Opportunity to attend and be featured in UNICEF Innovation Summit.
- Industrial matchmaking sessions
When & Where?
The local competition will take place at The Hive in Islamabad on Friday, 29 July 2016.
Those who wish to participate in the competition have to fill and submit the application form, available here, by 17th July 2016. The form requires you to submit details about yourself, your company and its future plans.
After application, selected applicants will be invited to participate in the event and pitch their startups in front of a local panel of judges. The judges will shortlist the candidates and ask them to fill in a more in-depth form. Finally, the selection committee will contact the candidates for an interview and the final decision will be made based on the detailed form and the interview.
