President Mamnoon Hussain Distributes PM Scheme Laptops at IBA

President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, in a rare and important appearance in Karachi, recently distributed laptops to 50 students of IBA under the scheme launched by his PM and party leader called the “PM Laptop Scheme”.

Mr President is not only the alumnus of IBA but he is also the Patron of the oldest and premium business school of Pakistan — a fact which most Pakistanis don’t know.

However, he distributed 50 laptops to students at Governor House, Karachi instead of in campus itself for an unknown reason.

The President met the students and teachers and also got an opportunity to deliver his keynote speech on the occasion.

“It is a pleasure to be a part of this laptop distribution ceremony for students of IBA, the institute of which I am a proud alumnus. IBA is a seat of learning parallel to none in Pakistan, with all the reasons to be proud of its glorious sixty years. It has gradually matured from an institute for quality education in Business to a seat of learning in Computer Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Social Sciences.”

Had he visited IBA campus, a big number of students and faculty members could witness his rare appearance.

There is no doubt that IBA is one of the most prestigious institutes of Pakistan but looking at President Hussain, his role and IBA’s slogan “Leadership and Ideas for tomorrow”, it is quite difficult to understand the meaning of leadership and ideas.

On the occasion, HEC Chairman Mukhtar Ahmed, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and Acting Dean and Director Sayeed Ghani were also present.

Dr. Sayeed Ghani presented tokens of appreciation to President Mr. Mamnoon Hussain. Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad – Governor Sindh & Patron IBA Karachi and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed – Chairman HEC.

  • @ProPK Staff acha tanz kar lia yahan par :p
…looking at President Hussain, his role and IBA’s slogan “Leadership and Ideas for tomorrow”, it is quite difficult to understand the meaning of leadership and ideas.

BTW what is the configuration of these laptops? aur yeh techno city main kab arahe hain?

    • They are equipped with some rubbish dual-core celerons if i remember correctly.
2 gigs of ram and around 500 gigs of storage

      • Not quite. The labs are equipped with C2D thin-clients but that’s beside the point since the curriculum actively promotes BYoD culture for students and faculty alike.

          • Bring Your Own Device. Both professors and students bring their own laptops/tablets/whatever, not cheap ones mind you, to lectures. There’s high speed wifi throughout the campus, so the lab is pretty much vacant most of the time, except for times when there’s a lecture or test scheduled. Most students prefer surfing Facebook in the library.

    • OLX pe dekh lo, technocity se pehle waha aa jaye ga. Core M 5Y10c 0.8 Ghz (turbo 2ghz) ha. And Haier Y11B series ha, google it.

  • Aamir Atta did you ever see your own face………….what are you trying to show to Pakistanis.

Are you making fun of President of Pakistan and his speech ( whosoever or from any political party )……tairay baap ke jagah hai.

    what does this statement mean:

“There is no doubt that IBA is one of the most prestigious institutes of Pakistan but looking at President Hussain, his role and IBA’s slogan “Leadership and Ideas for tomorrow”, it is quite difficult to understand the meaning of leadership and ideas.”

Tum logon ko atleast kissi achay institute say parh laina chahiye tha so you know how to criticize a public figurehead.

    Parhey likhay dungar. :(

  • Can’t imagine why the students would need those retired systems. Most students at the campus bring their state of the art devices anyway.

  • the person studying at IBA doesnt need these laptos. should have been distributed to poor and middle class colleges.

  • Whereas, awam of other public sector universities is still waiting for laptops.
