President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, in a rare and important appearance in Karachi, recently distributed laptops to 50 students of IBA under the scheme launched by his PM and party leader called the “PM Laptop Scheme”.
Mr President is not only the alumnus of IBA but he is also the Patron of the oldest and premium business school of Pakistan — a fact which most Pakistanis don’t know.
However, he distributed 50 laptops to students at Governor House, Karachi instead of in campus itself for an unknown reason.
The President met the students and teachers and also got an opportunity to deliver his keynote speech on the occasion.
“It is a pleasure to be a part of this laptop distribution ceremony for students of IBA, the institute of which I am a proud alumnus. IBA is a seat of learning parallel to none in Pakistan, with all the reasons to be proud of its glorious sixty years. It has gradually matured from an institute for quality education in Business to a seat of learning in Computer Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Social Sciences.”
Had he visited IBA campus, a big number of students and faculty members could witness his rare appearance.
There is no doubt that IBA is one of the most prestigious institutes of Pakistan but looking at President Hussain, his role and IBA’s slogan “Leadership and Ideas for tomorrow”, it is quite difficult to understand the meaning of leadership and ideas.
On the occasion, HEC Chairman Mukhtar Ahmed, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and Acting Dean and Director Sayeed Ghani were also present.
Dr. Sayeed Ghani presented tokens of appreciation to President Mr. Mamnoon Hussain. Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad – Governor Sindh & Patron IBA Karachi and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed – Chairman HEC.
