Mobile phone services in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are suspended again today, in connection with Defense Day celebrations and ceremonies.
An official of a mobile phone company confirmed ProPakistani that services in Rawalpindi and parts of Islamabad will remain offline from 4PM till 11PM.
Mobile phone services were shut down on the directions of Interior Ministry, an official confirmed.
We are told that cellular services around 10KM radius of General Headquarters in Rawalpindi are suspended, which include parts of Islamabad, especially the eastern and southern Islamabad.
Not to mention, all wireless services (WiMAX, EvDO, 2G, 3G, 4G) will remain offline.
It maybe recalled that mobile phone services in Rawalpindi and Islamabad were disrupted yesterday as well, during the same time. Mobile phone service was restored late in the evening around 11PM.
Laanat on this government and Defence Day celebrations for disrupting #BloodyCivilian lives; cutting off vital communications and blocking major roads. If they are so afraid, they should all go 100km outside Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and cut off mobile services and block main access roads there.
