Mobile phone services will remain suspended in major cities of Pakistan, starting from 12:30PM on 10th of Muharram to 7:30PM in the evening, we have confirmed this officially.
Interior Ministry took time and decided to suspend services only on 10th of Muharram, that too for limited time to minimize the impact of service suspension.
However, to ensure fool proof security, it was decided to suspended mobile phone services in major cities of the country for seven hours on 10th of Muharram.
A PTA spokesperson confirmed ProPakistani that a directive has been issued to all cellular operators and mobile service will start shutting down around 12:30PM.
PTA said that mobile cellular services, WiMAX, EvDO, CDMA and all other sorts of wireless services will remain offline during the time.
PTA said that federal capital, all provincial capitals and several other major cities including sensitive areas in all provinces, AJK, GB and FATA will remain without mobile phone services till 7:30PM today.
