5 Best Smartphones You Can Buy for Rs. 10K-20K in Pakistan

Out looking for a smartphone? Stepping into the smartphone realm? Or looking to get by with a phone until you have enough cash? Look no further.

This price range is suited for those of us looking to spend a bit of money on the phones and getting the ideal smartphone experience. Although we don’t vouch for performance on any of these phones (that depends on the manufacturers’ OS mostly), these will be good enough to get things done. This includes a good camera, an average battery (could last a day) and a satisfactory user experience.

So without further ado, lets get to it. Here are 5 phones between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000.

1. Infinix Hot 4 – Rs. 12,600

infinix-hot-4

The first phone on the list is not as popular as the other phones. Infinix isn’t as well established in Pakistan compared to the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Qmobile or others. It does however offer good phones, like the Hot 4.

This is the cheapest smartphone you can find in Pakistan which has a fingerprint sensor on it. This allows you to try out one of the most well established new technologies in the smartphone world without spending a fortune on it.

The battery is also worthy of a mention. The massive 4,000 mAh unit coupled with a low end processor means it could easily go through a day under heavy usage. Although the actual battery life may be different depending on the OS. Sine it comes with Android Marshmallow, you can still rest assured that the 4000mAh battery will last longer than most phones in the market.

Color options for this phone are various so you can choose the one you like easily.

qmobile-noir-s6

QMobile is one of the most popular smartphone makers in Pakistan due to their cheap offerings. Its Noir S6 is no exception, it offers similar features to the Infinix Hot 4 but with a smaller 2,500 mAh battery and a 5-inch screen. The price is also similar.

Design wise it looks strikingly similar to the iPhone 6, at least from the front. The curved glass edges also give it another edge (design-wise) over the similarly priced Infinix Hot 4.

It fills the battery void with an allegedly better camera. The 13MP shooter on the Noir S6 offers a higher pixel count and claims to have a camera that takes good photos in the night or in dark places.

One of the oldest players in the smartphone business, HTC offers phones in this price range as well which allows you to get a taste for its proprietary phone-tech at a cheaper price.

The Desire 620 includes HTC’s trademark boomsound stereo speakers. Stereo speakers have become an HTC trademark of sorts. The actual quality of the speakers depends on the model but you are guaranteed good speakers if you go for an HTC phone.

The OS is also one of their strong points with HTC Sense UI. The OS runs smooth without stutters or lag on almost all of the HTC phones. The customization options are also unique to the Sense UI showing that HTC does work on something despite not doing so well in terms of overall sales.

Nevertheless, if you think about buying this phone because it’s an HTC, you know what you’re paying for and wouldn’t be disappointed.

infinix-note-3

Following the Hot 4, the Infinix Note 3 is no slouch either. This phone goes the extra mile in every category that the Hot 4 lags behind.

It ups the screen size from 5.5 to 6.0 inches and the resolution from HD (1280 x 720) to Full HD (1920 x 1080). It also has an even bigger battery than the Hot 4, with a 4,500 mAh unit. The processor is also upped a notch to Mediatek MT 6753 which is better compared than the one found in the Hot 4.

The back camera also employs a 13MP unit compared with the 8MP one on the Hot 4.

Simply put, its the bigger and better Inifnix phone with the price to justify the upgrade.

5. Huawei P8 Lite – Rs. 20,000

Huawei P8 lite

This is one of Huawei’s best midrange phones which saw their price fall to slightly more affordable levels. It barely edges out the Rs. 10k to 20k price category.

Huawei’s P8 Lite although does not offer specifications on par with some of the other good phones on the list, (720p screen, no fingerprint scanner, average battery life), it does offer stellar performance to cover for it.

The smaller resolution coupled with a processor that is similar to the Infinix Note 3 means that this phone would give you a much better experience performance-wise compared to the Note 3.

Aside from that, design-wise this phone looks very similar to Huawei’s other flagships, like the Ascend P8. In fact, if the two phones are placed together they would be hardly distinguishable. You’ll be getting a flagship like design with this one

Also worth mentioning is the fact that this is the only phone in the list with NFC capability.

Huawei P8 Lite Specifications

  • CPU: 8x Cortex-A53 64-bit @ 1.2GHz
  • GPU: Mali-450MP4
  • Chipset: HiSilicon Kirin 620

    • Internal: 16 GB
    • Card slot: yes, up to 256 GB
  • Camera:
    • Primary: 13 MP, f/2.0, Autofocus, Dual LED flash with 1080p (1920 x 1080) video recording
    • Secondary: 5 MP/720p (1280 x 720) video recording

  • I cannot find any phone worth PKR 10,000 in above list. Kindly change the post subject to 12k as minimum price is 12k in above list.

  • There is no 4g LTE network in Infinix Hot 4. @ProPakistani – What’s going on why you are providing false information?

  • OPPO A37 is best in this range in Rs. 15,500 market price. It also support Telenor LTE band 5 and Zong/Warid LTE band 3. It has 16 GB internal memory with dedicated SD card slot and 2 GB ram.
P8, P9 lite are pathetic phones, with 16 GB ram you cannot expand storage via SD card if you are a dual sim user due to lack of dedicated SD card slots.

    • P8 and P9 lite being pathetic is your opinion on the matter. Not everyone finds them to be that bad.

I highly doubt Oppo A37 beats the Huawei phones in any way aside from price and the dedicated memory card slot.

      • You didnt read my comment properly. I was just posting my own opinion. I need more memory than 16 GB (only 12GB available). And a dual sim user cannot expand memory in both devices. I am not interested in numbers, I need what I need.

  • Breaking news: after surge pricing Uber now presents dynamic pricing in Karachi. Propakistani, wake up!
