Samsung Initiates Note 7 Refund Program for Buyers in Pakistan

By now everyone knows the fiasco that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has become, thanks to its propensity to catch fire. Following worldwide reports of the Note 7 catching fire, the South Korean giant has initiated a recall program for what could have been its most successful phone in recent times.

Samsung Pakistan, in light of the above scenario, has also finally offered Pakistani consumers the same choice.

It should be mentioned that the company had not formally launched the Note 7 here, but for those consumers who had pre-booked their Note 7 models or had bought Note 7 through any means in Pakistan (i.e. from online stores or maybe thorough a cousin from Dubai), the company has requested them to contact their concerned retailers and get a refund.

Samsung Pakistan is offering following choices for customers who pre-booked the Note 7 in Pakistan or have possession of Note 7 in Pakistan:

  • In case of pre-orders: Go to a Samsung retailer, show the pre-order proof and get a refund
  • In case you bought a Note 7 Phone:
    • Return the phone and get Galaxy S7 Edge instead of Galaxy Note 7 and a refund of Rs. 10,000, or
    • Return Note 7 and get a refund
      • of Rs. 85,376 if bought from Pakistan (any online store or by any other means)
      • if bought from outside, show the proof (receipt) and get an equivalent amount in Pakistani currency as refund.

Interested customers have been requested to do the following as per Samsung Pakistan’s official blog post:

For any questions or queries about the Galaxy Note7 and the replacement and refund policy, kindly contact on 0800-72678 (open 9:00am to 9:00pm / 7 days per week.

Samsung has also set a Kiosk at Karachi Airport, where anyone with Note 7 devices can return their devices on the spot and get all their data saved on an SD card by the staff.  Samsung, at such Kiosks, will give customers a receiving receipt that will ensure a full refund at any international Samsung outlet.
