Comparison: Everything You Need to Know About Courier Services in Pakistan

Whether it is for personal use or if you are just starting your business on a small scale, when it comes to document or package shipments, there are loads of choices available in Pakistan. However, the process to identify the cheapest and best option is a tedious one.

We have gathered information from popular courier services of Pakistan which ship throughout the country so that you can save time on searches, calls and more.

Let’s take a look at them and their charges, capacities and features.

TCS

TCS has the widest private network in Pakistan and some unique services to offer.

Requirements
  • Items to be shipped have to comply with the company’s terms and conditions.
  • For items exceeding the standard size, weight will be considered based on the volume.
Coverage

TCS covers all cities and major towns of Pakistan for all services. Hazir SabKuch is limited to major cities only.

Rates

Standard delivery is based on size of the package and the destination. Heavier and bigger packages are charged more and so are packages meant for other cities.

TCS Hazir:

  • For packages under 2kg, Rs. 100 are charged within city
  • For packages between 2kg-5k Rs. 200 are charged within city
  • For packages between 5kg-25kg Rs. 250 are charged within city

The above package includes pickup charges only. Delivery charges are separate.

TCS Hazir SabKuch:

SabKuch is meant for personal use but can come in handy for businesses under certain circumstances as well. TCS teams can pickup or buy any item the customer desires and deliver it to them wherever they need it.

  • For packages picked up and deliverable on a bike, Rs. 200
  • For packages picked up and delivered using van, Rs. 300
  • Additional charge of Rs. 100 for a distance exceeding 30km

The above package includes service charges only. Delivery charges are separate.

Delivery Charges
  • Delivery is charged Rs. 450 per kg with insurance costing extra.
  • Small businesses get an extra discount of about 50% over standard customers bringing the costs down to Rs. 200 to Rs. 250.
  • Large scale businesses and ecommerce retailers get special rates of Rs. 100

The above rates are for special packages i.e. gadgets, phones etc. Documents cost less and overnight delivery costs extra.

OCS

OCS recently revamped its courier — after it was bought by M&P — and is currently the second biggest company that offers some very good packages.

Requirements
  • Items to be shipped have to comply with the company’s terms and conditions.
  • For items exceeding the standard size (12cm x 12cm x 12cm), weight will be considered based on the volume.
Coverage

OCS covers all cities and towns of Pakistan. Offers special delivery service for remote areas of the country.

Rates

Standard delivery is based on size of the package and the destination. Heavier and bigger packages are charged more and so are packages meant for other cities in different zones.

OCS Overnight:

  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 80 within city and Rs. 120 for 1kg or Rs. 60 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 130 within the same zone and Rs. 180 for 1kg or Rs. 90 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 180 for a different zone and Rs. 220 for 1kg or Rs. 110 for each additional 500 grams.

OCS Same Day:                                                                              

  • For packages up to 1kg, Rs. 300 within city and an additional Rs. 150 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 1kg, Rs. 600 for a different city and an additional Rs. 200 for each additional 500 grams.

Note: Service available in Karachi, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Lahore only.

OCS My Box:

Meant for large shipments

  • For parcels up to 2kg, Rs. 200 within city and additional Rs. 100 per kg (reduced as weight increases) up to Rs. 2,000 for 30kg.
  • For parcels up to 2kg, Rs. 280 within same zone and additional Rs. 140 per kg (reduced as weight increases) up to Rs. 2,500 for 30kg.
  • For parcels up to 2kg, Rs. 380for a different zone and additional Rs. 190 per kg (reduced as weight increases) up to Rs. 3,000 for 30kg.

OCS My Flyer:

For secure and safe shipments.

  • For packages up to 1kg, Rs. 300 across the country and additional Rs. 200 per kg.

Supplementary Service:

Special services for special requirements such as holiday shipping, remote areas, special handling and hand carry.

  • For packages up to 1kg, Rs. 200 across the country and an additional Rs. 200 per kg.

Leopards Courier

Leopards is another big player in Pakistan with a large network and nominal prices.

Requirements
  • Items to be shipped have to comply with the company’s terms and conditions.
  • Items exceeding the standard weight limit of 35kg are not shipped.
  • For items exceeding the standard size, weight will be considered based on the volume.
  • 5% of an item’s value is charged as insurance fee where applicable.
  • Businesses need to register an account by filling in this form available here.
Coverage

Leopards Courier covers all cities and towns of Pakistan. Claims to have the largest shipping network in Pakistan.

Rates

Leopard Cash on Delivery:

Meant for small businesses to get the popular cash on delivery service and sell products in other cities.

  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 165 within city and Rs. 195 for 1kg or Rs. 150 for each additional kg.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 195 in zone A (Major cities) and Rs. 235 for 1kg or Rs. 170 for each additional kg.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 205 for a different zone and Rs. 245 for 1kg or Rs. 180 for each additional kg.

Note: GST Applicable, items priced over Rs. 30,000 are not accepted flyers cost extra and fuel charges apply.

Leopard Overnight:

  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 70 within city and Rs. 100 for 1kg or Rs. 50 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 130 within the same province and Rs. 180 for 1kg or Rs. 90 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 170 for a different province and Rs. 220 for 1kg or Rs. 110 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 200 for the fifth province and Rs. 220 for 1kg or Rs. 140 for each additional 500 grams.

Leopard Yellow Box:

Meant for large shipments.

  • For parcels up to 1kg, Rs. 180 within same province and additional Rs. 170 per kg (reduced as box size increases) up to Rs. 1,800 for 25kg.
  • For parcels up to 1kg, Rs. 220 for a different province and additional Rs. 220 per kg (reduced as box size increases) up to Rs. 2,600 for 25kg.

Leopard Overland:

3-day economical service for packages over 10kgs.

  • For packages up to 10kg, Rs. 300 in Zone A and additional Rs. 30 per kg.
  • For packages up to 10kg, Rs. 400 in Zone B and additional Rs. 40 per kg.

Leopard Economy:

Most economical package for heavy shipments within 2 days.

  • For packages up to 5kg, Rs. 400 across Pakistan and additional Rs.800 per kg.

Leopard Flyer:

For secure and safe shipments of documents, mobiles and passports.

  • For documents up to 1kg, Rs. 350 across the same province and additional Rs. 160 per kg.
  • For documents up to 1kg, Rs. 380 in a different province and additional Rs. 180 per kg.
  • For passports and mobile phones up to 1kg, Rs. 380 across Pakistan and additional Rs. 380 per kg.

Pakistan Post

Pakistan Post, being a government owned and the oldest player in the market, has the biggest courier network in the country.

Requirements
  • Items to be shipped have to comply with the company’s terms and conditions.
  • For items exceeding the standard size (1m x 2m) and weight cannot be sent using UMS. It can only be sent through Standard Mail.
Coverage

All across Pakistan including all cities, towns and villages in the country.

Rates

Pakistan Post Standard Mail:

  • Starting at Rs. 8 for letters of up to 20g and up to Rs. 100 for letters of up to 2kg.
  • Starting at Rs. 20 for small packets of up to 250g and up to Rs. 45 for weight of up to 2kg.
  • Starting at Rs. 40 for parcels of up to 1kg and up to Rs. 550 for weight of up to 50kg. Varying prices for different weights. Click here for more info.

Note: Optional Registration fee of Rs. 20 per article applies. Air delivery costs an extra Rs. 20. Standard Mail takes several days to reach its destination.

Pakistan Post Urgent Mail Service (UMS):

For walk-in customers:

  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 30 within city and Rs. 45 for 1kg or Rs. 10 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 50 to other cities and Rs. 70 for 1kg or Rs. 20 for each additional 500 grams.

For commercial customers*:

  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 15 within city and Rs. 20 for 1kg or Rs. 5 for each additional 500 grams.
  • For packages up to 500 grams, Rs. 25 to other cities and Rs. 35 for 1kg or Rs. 10 for each additional 500 grams.

Note: All rates are exclusive of taxes. Proof of Delivery costs an extra Rs. 5. Item value should not exceed Rs. 2,000.

*Commercial users need to have a total monthly business exceeding Rs. 7,000 for the discounted rates otherwise standard rates will apply.

Pakistan Post UMS Cash on Delivery:

  • For packages valued under Rs. 10,000, Rs. 105 are charged within city and Rs. 125 are charged for the rest of Pakistan.
  • For packages valued between Rs. 10,001-20,000, Rs. 130 are charged within city and Rs. 150 are charged for the rest of Pakistan.
  • For packages valued between Rs. 20,001-50,000, Rs. 155 are charged within city and Rs. 175 are charged for the rest of Pakistan.
  • For packages valued between Rs. 50,001-100,000, Rs. 180 are charged within city and Rs. 200 are charged for the rest of Pakistan.

Note: Orders over Rs. 50,000 are considered the same as Urgent Money Orders.

Pakistan Post Fax Money Order:

Same day remittance of money throughout the country.

  • Money order of up to Rs. 25,000, Rs 150 are charged.
  • Money order of up to Rs. 50,000, Rs 300 are charged.

Pakistan Post Electronic Money Order:

Instant transfer of money from one post office to another or to the intended receiver’s doorstep.

  • Money transfer of up to Rs. 2,000, Rs. 50 are charged and Rs. 100 are charged for transfer of Rs. 5,000 or less.
  • Money transfer of up to Rs. 10,000, Rs. 200 are charged and Rs. 250 are charged for transfer of Rs. 15,000 or less.
  • Money transfer of up to Rs. 20,000, Rs. 350 are charged and Rs. 400 are charged for transfer of Rs. 30,000 or less.
  • Money transfer of up to Rs. 40,000, Rs. 450 are charged and Rs. 500 are charged for transfer of Rs. 50,000 or less.
  • Money transfer of up to Rs. 100,000, Rs. 600 are charged.

  • Leopards…..The representative called my cell phone on 21st November, to confirm my address for delivering Interview letter which was supposed to be conducted on 10th of November. Letter was handed over to the courier company on 4th of November :)……………..

  • “M&P Courier & Logistics Company” is an Incapable and Most Unreliable service Provider in the logistics and courier business. Having No System in place to Track the Lost consignments. ….Ironically M&P’s Management is Ethically at such a Low level that after ‘disappearing’ the consignment in Black Hole by their incompetent staff, They will intelligently prove that the Customer was the culprit ‘why he booked his valuable through M&P’. If someone is interested, I can share M&P’s response to me in such an incident. Stay Away from M&P if you want secure delivery of your valuables……
