UBL and Mastercard Launch Service for Making Payments Via QR Code

United Bank Limited (UBL), in collaboration with Mastercard has launched the Masterpass QR digital payment service.

The Masterpass QR digital payment service will enable users to pay for their in-store, bill payments (invoices) and for delivery with one secure account.

The users will simply have to scan a QR code displayed at a merchant’s checkout corner through the QR code scanning feature in their UBL mobile app, then enter the amount of their transaction and their PIN to complete the transaction, and pay for whatever they choose.

This service is going to make the job of making payments much more quicker, easier, secure and convenient. This would benefit a huge number of existing UBL customers.

President and CEO of UBL, Wajahat Husain said:

More and more merchants are gradually going to start accepting digital payments and expand their presence across the nation.

This will be a step forward for both customers and banks as payments methods will evolve to be much more efficient, eliminating the need for customers to go through the hassle of handling cash or pay through it.
