Pakistani National Dr Tahseen Appointed World Bank’s Country Director

A Pakistani national, Dr Tahseen Sayed Khan, has been selected as the new country director of World Bank for Caribbean countries.

Dr Tahseen’s new role is to maintain a good partnership with the countries regarding any difficulties they are facing in developmental and financial spheres, and proposing solutions for the same.

She expressed her gratitude by stating:

It is an honor for me to be working in the Caribbean. I look forward to deepening our engagement with governments, development partners, civil society and the private sector, to boost inclusive growth and reduce poverty in the Caribbean.

Career Background

Dr. Tahseen Sayed Khan started her career at the World Bank as a Social Sector Specialist in South Asia back in 1997.

She has been appointed at different positions during her career including, Operations Adviser, Lead Education Specialist and Country Manager for Nepal.  Previously, Dr. Khan had the opportunity to work as the Country Manager for Albania in Europe and Central Asia.

Dr. Tahseen is deeply knowledgeable about country projects and programs, with a proven track record of innovation and delivering on these projects.

Dr. Tahseen is a Master’s level graduate from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She has a Master’s Degree in Law and Diplomacy specializing in Development Studies.
