Huawei Launches the Midrange Enjoy 7 Plus

Huawei is back with another mid-range/budget Smartphone for the masses. The Enjoy 7 Plus will go on sale this month in China for CNY 1,600 (~Rs. 24,000) with no word on an international release yet. You can expect the price to be higher in Pakistan owing to taxes and other costs.

The previous entries in the Enjoy series made it to Pakistan under different names. Huawei Enjoy 6S for example was known as Honor 6C and Enjoy 5S was known as Huawei GR3 (didn’t have a fingerprint sensor).

Design and Display

The phone looks strikingly similar to Xiaomi’s Redmi 4 with the round camera sensor, flash and the rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus features a larger screen size compared to the rest of the Enjoy series with a 5.5 inch IPS LCD 720p (1280 x 720) resolution display. The pixel density won’t be any good with a mere 267 ppi.

Internals and Storage

The Chinese smartphone comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor which should be good enough for everyday tasks (not built for power users). It features 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card.

A plus point would be the OS choice here with Huawei opting for the newer Android 7.0 Nougat instead of going with the same old Marshmallow.

Camera and Battery

One would expect Huawei to feature a dual-camera setup here which has become a mainstay in majority of the company’s phones but this is not the case here.

Enjoy 7 Plus will feature a 12 MP primary camera with an LED flash, HDR and 1080p video recording. The front camera employs an 8 MP sensor.

One of the strong points of the Enjoy 7 Plus is its 4,000 mAh battery. Coupled with a 720p screen and a Snapdragon 435 you can bet on the phone potentially going 2 full days on a single charge easily.

  • Snapdragon 435 processor is primarily for the lower tier of the price point spectrum, the Snapdragon 6xx processor series is somewhat true to middle weight.. Guess that the Redmi 4 beats it in the design as well as power but equal in the price point value.. So..What exactly is this phone pushing for?
