You Can Get Free Wi-Fi in Punjab At These Locations

A couple of years ago, Punjab government and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) announced the setting up of free WiFi access across the province. The government re-announced the project several times during the past two years.

The project was initially planned for Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan with plans for expand the project into other cities in the coming years. While the ambitious project is still far from complete, the cities which were a part of the initial rollout process have officially gained free internet access at major public places.

PITB has now officially unveiled the list of places in Punjab where free WiFi access can be availed. The service is currently offered in Lahore, Multan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree and Gujar Khan.

Popular landmarks where free Wifi service is available are listed below:

Lahore:

  • Across most Metro bus stations
  • Allama Iqbal International Airport
  • Greater Iqbal Park
  • Anarkali
  • City Bus Station
  • Gaddafi Stadium
  • Lahore Zoo
  • Jalo Park
  • Model Town Park
  • Linear Park
  • Jilani Park
  • Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park
  • National Bank Park
  • Lahore Zoo Safari
  • And several colleges, universities, government offices, markets and hospitals

Rawalpindi:

  • Across most metro bus stations
  • Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
  • Municipal Football Stadium
  • Benazir Bhutto Hospital
  • Raja Bazar
  • DHQ
  • Railway Station
  • Saddar
  • Liaquat Bagh
  • Rawalpindi Medical College
  • Fatima Jinnah Women University
  • And a few parks and hospitals

Islamabad:

  • Across some metro bus stations

Multan:
