Acer Launches All New Aspire Lineup

Acer has announced a new and revamped lineup of Aspire series laptops. The four models hit a variety of price points and offer configurations aimed at the entry-level user to theĀ up and coming gamers.

We take a look at new Acer Aspire 1, 3, 5 and 7 series of laptops and their features.

Aspire 1 and Aspire 3

Acer Aspire 1

On the more affordable side of the lineup is the Aspire 1, which starts at only $219. The “family-and-student focused” laptop is available in a 14-inch configuration with an Intel Celeron or Pentium processor.

There is up to 64 GB of eMMC storage with 4 GB of RAM, as well as a USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Ethernet and HDMI. There’s Wi-Fi ac, 1 TB of OneDrive storage and a one-year subscription of Office 365 out of the box. Battery life is quoted at 9 hours, while the laptop weighs just 1.65 kg.

Acer Aspire 3

Next up is the Aspire 3, a slightly higher-end machine with additional options that starts at $299. You get to choose between a 14-inch HD and a 15.6-inch Full HD display for the Aspire 3. The types of processors are the same as Aspire 1, though the RAM can go up to 12 GB.

The storage options are likely the same, as is the Intel HD Graphics technology. A small but useful feature is Acer’s BlueLightShield, which will prevent eyes from straining under low-lighting.

Aspire 5 and Aspire 7

The “practical and mainstream” Aspire 5 is next with a fairly sturdy package starting at $449. It will be available in 15.6″ FHD display option with an IPS panel. Under the hood, you get an Intel Kaby Lake processor of up to Core i7 variety.

The Aspire 5 includes a discreet Nvidia GeForce GPU as well as up to 20 GB DDR4 2400 MHz RAM. Storage options go all the way to a 2 TB HDD or an M.2 256 GB SSD.

There’s USB-C 3.1, USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports available in the Aspire 5. Furthermore, Acer guarantees a better display and audio quality for an overall impressive multimedia experience.

Acer Aspire 7

The ultimate machine in the lineup is the Aspire 7, Ā which comes with 15 and 17-inch display options and similar processor options as the Aspire 5, but swaps the graphics module for a GTX 1060. The storage is set at a 2 TB HDD or 512 GB SSD, while the amount of RAM can be of up to 32 GB. There’s gigabit ethernet port as well as 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi. With the similar set of ports as the Aspire 5.

Aspire 7 starts at $799.
