You’ll Soon Be Able to Share Any Kind of File on WhatsApp

When it comes to sharing images, videos or other media, WhatsApp is the place to go. Most people prefer sending media over WhatsApp rather than using cloud services or Bluetooth to share. Its pretty convenient that way.

You can currently share PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets or slides but you can’t share miscellaneous file types like APKs, RARs, etc. In short, there were limits to the type of files you could share.

Not anymore.

WhatsApp Allows All File Types Sharing

WhatsApp’s new beta version now lets you share anything you want, as long as its around 100 MB in size (on Android). On iOS, you can share any file with anyone as long as its within a 128 MB size.

Share Uncompressed Images and Videos

WhatsApp usually compresses videos and images before sending them. This ends up ruining image or video quality leading to unusable, pixelated pics or videos. With the new update, you can send uncompressed images or short high quality videos easily.

Though you can share any type of file now, WhatsApp still imposes a maximum limit on the size of your file. The measure has been taken by the company so that users don’t overwhelm WhatsApp’s servers by sending huge files such as Full HD/4K movies via the app.

May Not Work For You

You can try out the new feature yourself by downloading the WhatsApp beta APK below. Be wary that the feature is limited to a few users only and may not work for users in Pakistan.

In addition, keep in mind that this is a beta app, and it may feature some bugs or glitches. Use at your own risk.
