A day earlier Geo Entertainment, Hum TV and ARY Communications received a warning from PEMRA for the same reasons.

A statement released by the authority says,

The content aired is offensive to the commonly accepted standards of decency and exploits cultural and religious values of viewers.

PEMRA added that the channels’ respective managements should be wary of airing such content in morning shows as families that watch them, and find them discomforting or inappropriate.

Airing indecent content is also in violation of a number of clauses in Pemra Ordinance 2002 as amended by Pemra (Amendment) Act 2007 as well as Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.

The channels were also asked to appoint an in-house committee that monitors the content aired on them.

Not TV ONE’s First Rodeo

Recently Sahir Lodhi and TV ONE came under fire for going a step further than indecency. The anchorperson and show “Ishq Ramzan” were penalized by PEMRA for airing controversial remarks against the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
