Oppo A71 is the Company’s Newest Mid-range Phone

Oppo is releasing a new smartphone in its ongoing conveyor belt of mid-range Android phones with the new A71.

The phone brings a basic but solid design with a good CPU, though, it will face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Samsung.

Design and Display

 

The design here comes with a metal-based finish, which is fast becoming the norm for mid-range phones. It also comes with a nano silver technology for further strengthening. The display on the front comes with a 5.2″ TFT panel, coming with a workable 720p resolution.

There is no fingerprint sensor included which is a surprise, considering that even low end phones have one these days.

Internals and Storage

Under the hood you get an octa-core 1.5 GHz MediaTek processor with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which is also expandable via microSD. The phone is dual SIM by default.

The software running here is Android 7.1 Nougat, with Oppo’s custom Color OS 3.1 skin on top which allows features such as multi-tasking and blue light filter.

Camera(s)

A single lens setup on the back consists of a 13-megapixel shooter with a LED Flash and phase-detection autofocus. The sensor size is 1/3.06” while there’s a f/2.2 aperture.

The front of the phone also comes with a 5 MP secondary shooter with f/2.4 aperture.

Battery

Battery capacity is set at 3,000 mAh, and its likely non-removable.

No fast charging support was mentioned which means you’ll be stuck charging it for 2+ hours every time it runs out of juice.

The pricing of the phone is set at $200, which will potentially get it intermingled with other competitive Chinese options. However with the hardware it offers, it’ll be a tough sell.
